Notice | Notice ● Must be Japanese or non-Japanese who has permanent residence in Japan ● Upon arrival to Thailand, the period of stay is granted by an immigration officer in accordance with the type of visa to travelers who wish to stay longer than the granted period must file an application for permission of extension of stay at offices of the Immigration Bureau of Thailand. The extension of stay as well as the change of certain type of visa is solely at the discretion of the Immigration officer in Thailand ● In case that visa application is rejected, the visa fee will not be refunded and the submitted documents will not be returned to the applicant. ● The following required documents are subject to change without prior notice. ● Royal Thai Consulate-General, Fukuoka reserves the right to request additional documents as deemed necessary and reserves the right to reject an application without providing any reasons. ● Fraud or misrepresentation can result in permanent visa ineligibility. |
Required Documents
1. Passport and a copy of passport photo page
● Passport with validity not less than 6 months
● At least 2 blank pages left
● One copy of passport photo page
2. Visa Application Form (Download Form)
● One Visa Application Form completely filled out and signed as the same as the applicant's passport signature
3. One Photograph
● Size 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm
● Colour photograph taken within the last 3 months
● Attach the photograph to the Visa Application Form
4. Personal History (Download Form)
● One Personal History completely filled out and signed as the same as the applicant's passport signature
5. One original bank statement of the applicant in English language
● The applicant must have a balance of at least 500,000 baht (equivalent to 2.5 million yen) at the time of visa application
● Copy of bankbooks are not acceptable
6. Occupation’s documents
6.1 For Company employee
● One original certificate of employment or Recommendation Letter issued by current employer in Japan (in English language and Must have the company's letter head and include company’s address and contact details)
● One original company’s registration (TOKIBOTOHON) issued within 3 months
6.2 For Owner of company / Self-employed
● One original company’s registration (TOKIBOTOHON) issued within 3 months and
● One original certificate of personal income tax or personal income tax exemption or a Copy of Kakuteishinkoku in Japan
6.3 For foreign talent/digital nomad/Freelance
● Employment contract
● Professional portfolio showcasing digital nomad, foreign talent
● One original certificate of personal income tax or personal income tax exemption or a Copy of Kakuteishinkoku in Japan
7. One copy of confirmed airline ticket paid in full or ticket reservation confirmation
● The confirmed airline ticket paid in full or ticket reservation confirmation must be issued by airline and must contain the applicant's name, flight number and date arrival
8. Evidence of accommodations for the entire duration of stay in Thailand (one of the following documents from 8.1-8.2 is required)
8.1 Hotel reservations ( at least 15 days of reservations)
● The hotel reservation confirmation must contain applicant’s name, payment confirmation (receipt), hotel’s name with address, check-in and check-out dates
● In the case that the hotel reservation confirmation displays the names of other traveler(s), please provide a passport copy for the respective traveler(s), and the confirmed airline ticket in accordance with No.5
8.2 Copy of the applicant’s own evidence for condominium / apartment / house
● In case of renting condominium / apartment / house: a copy of the lease agreement and landlord's Identification Card (ID Card) is required
● In case of staying with friend or family: the following documents from A-D is required
A. Invitation Letter from friend or family (including name of the writer, relationship with the applicant, address for staying, length of stay, contact, and signature of the writer)
B. In case of owning or renting condominium / apartment / house, a copy of the applicant’s own evidence or the lease agreement
C. One copy of Identification Card (ID Card) of friend or family
➢ In case of Thai national, must submit a copy of ID card and House Registration which include address and name
➢ In case of foreigner, must submit a copy of passport (photo page and valid visa pages) and, in case of foreigner legally working in Thailand, must also submit a copy of valid work permit
D. Official documents proving family relationship
➢ For Japanese national, must submit one original family registration certificate of Japan (KOSEKITOHON) issued within 3 months
➢ For foreigners, must submit one copy of Registration of Marriage with English translation or Birth Certificate with English translation
9. One original guarantee letter in Japan, must be presented, together with a copy of guarantor's passport or driving license (Japanese citizen only) duly signed by the guarantor

10. For Participants of activities such as Muaythai, Thai courses, Thai cooking classes, sport training, medical treatment, seminars, music festivals, etc.
● Proof of confirmation to attend the activity or letter of appointment from/medical center

Additional Required Documents for Non-Japanese Applicants
11. One copy of residence card or certificate of alien registration (On the applying date, please present the original document of identification)
● Valid for at least 3 months
● For those who are currently applying for renewal of residence card, please submit a copy of acceptance of renewal issued by the Immigration Bureau of Japan
12. Additional documents (Only for the applicant from the listed countries below)
● Applicant with nationality of No. 1-28, please provide all documents 3 sets
● Applicant with nationality of No. 29-30, please provide all documents 4 sets
Remark: ※Visa processing time for certain nationals listed above is approximately 3-60 days ※For Nigeria nationals, please submit all required documents, including a Certificate of Clearance, with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). In addition, this Certificate should be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and then by the Royal Thai Embassy in Abuja |
