Purpose of entry

● Foreign passengers proceeding through Thailand’s airport (Suvarnabhumi Airport and Donmuang Airport) to another country. 
*If you need to go through immigration procedures (= Entering Thailand), e.g. to check in your luggage for a connecting flight, then you may need a visa.

*If you transit in transit departure area, but transit times are more than 12 hours, then you may need a visa.

● Foreign passengers participating in sports activities (sportsmen, sportswomen and etc.) 

***Please kindly check the airlines if your connecting flight have to go through immigration procedures or not.
Please apply for a transit visa before the departure date if your countries are required.

Notice
● Applicant must enter Thailand on the date specified in the airline ticket or ticket reservation confirmation
● Upon arrival to Thailand, the period of stay is granted by an immigration officer in accordance with the type of visa.  Travelers who wish to stay longer than the granted period must file an application for permission of extension of stay at offices of the Immigration Bureau of Thailand. The extension of stay as well as the change of certain type of visa is solely at the discretion of the Immigration officer in Thailand
● In case that visa application is rejected, the visa fee will not be refunded and the submitted documents will not be returned to the applicant
● The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Fukuoka reserves the right to request additional documents as deemed necessary and reserves the right to reject an application without providing any reasons
● Fraud or misrepresentation can result in permanent visa ineligibility
● The following required documents are subject to change without prior notice

1. Passport
● Passport with validity not less than 6 months

● At least 2 blank pages left

2. Visa Application Form and one colour photograph taken within 3 months (size 3.5×4.5cm)
• Completely filled out and signed as the same as the applicant's passport signature

• Japanese nationals and foreign nationals except listed countries on table 1 are required 1 set of application form and photo

3. Personal History
• Completely filled out and signed as the same as the applicant's passport signature

4. Official bank statement in English or Copy of bank passbook (all pages)
● Must be stated bank contact information and deposit with the equivalent amount of not less than 20,000 Baht (80,000 Yen) per person and 40,000 Baht (120,000 Yen) per family.

5. Airline ticket or flight booking confirmation
● Must be issued by airline or travel company and must contain the applicant's name, flight number and date arrival

6. One copy of residence card (Please present the original document of identification on application date)
● Valid for at least 3 months
● For those who are currently applying for renewal of residence card, please submit a copy of acceptance of renewal issued by the Immigration Bureau of Japan

7. Original guarantee letter

 Guarantee Letter

   ● A guarantor must be twenty (20) years of age or older, must be able to confirm the applicant's personal attributes. A guarantor must be available to be contacted by the Consulate-General and must not be a person who will accompany the applicant to Thailand
   ● A guarantor who are not Japanese national must provide a copy of passport and residence card (legally residing in Japan)
   ● A guarantor must sign as the same as the guarantor's identification document signature
   ● Japanese guarantor who prefers to use driver license, please sign as the same as signature in the guarantor letter on the copy of driver license

Remark 
*Visa processing time for the listed countries on table 1 above is approximately 3-60 days
*For Nigeria nationals, please submit all required documents, including a Certificate of Clearance, with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). In addition, this Certificate should be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and then by the Royal Thai Embassy in Abuja

 

8. Invitation Letter from Sports Authority of Thailand (Compulsory in case of applicant visiting Thailand for sport activities)
• Applicants must obtain visa issuance permit from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand by directly requesting through Sports Authority of Thailand

9. Additional documents for applicant who will stay overnight in Thailand

9.1 Evidence of accommodations in Thailand under applicant name
• Evidence of hotel booking or rental payments for condominium / apartment / house

9.2 Occupation’s documents
A. For company employee, an original certificate of employment, certificate of leave and an original copy of company’s registration (TOKIBOTOHON) are required.

B. For self-employment, an original company’s registration (TOKIBOTOHON) is required.

C. For student, an original certificate of enrollment issued by academic institute in Japan is required.

D. For Children under 20 years old travelling with parents, documents showing family relation such as a copy of birth or an original of household registration (KOSEKITOHON) are required.
*In case that the child of applicant has no own bank’s account, the applicant can submit, on behalf of the child, the applicant’s bank statement with the equivalent amount of not less than 1,000,000 Baht for the last 6 months in order to cover the applicant and the child’s required bank deposit.

G. For unemployment
• An original certificate of personal income tax / original certificate of personal income tax exemption or similar document.
• An original guarantee letter must be presented together with a copy of guarantor's passport or driving license duly signed by the guarantor.
