Non-Immigration O-X  Visa
(Long stay for 10 years)

Qualification

• Must be 50 years of age or over on the date of applying visa
• Must not be prohibited from entering Thailand
• Must have no criminal record in Thailand, Japan and the applicant’s country of nationality
• Must be Japanese or must have permanent residence in Japan with passport and nationality of the following countries; 

Australia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States of America

• Must not have prohibitive diseases as indicated in the Ministerial Regulation No. 14 B.E. 2535, namely, Leprosy, Tuberculosis, Elephantiasis, third phase of Syphilis and Drug Addiction
Employment in Thailand is strictly prohibited, but can work as a volunteer (in accordance with the list of volunteer work as stipulated by the Department of Employement, Ministry of Labour Thailand)
• Applicants who wish to extend their stay can contact the offices of the Immigration Bureau of Thailand directly to request for 5 years extension of stay for only one time for the total stay of 10 years

Notice • Applicant must enter Thailand on the date specified in the airline ticket or ticket reservation confirmation
• Upon arrival to Thailand, the period of stay is granted by an immigration officer in accordance with the type of visa and travelers who wish to stay longer than the granted period must file an application for permission of extension of stay at offices of the Immigration Bureau of Thailand
• In case that visa application is rejected, the visa fee will not be refunded and submitted documents will not be returned to applicant
• The following required documents are subject to change without prior notice
• Royal Thai Consulate-Genernal, Fukuoka reserves the right to request additional documents as deemed necessary and reserves the right to reject an application without providing any reasons
• Fraud or misrepresentation can result in permanent visa ineligibility

The following documents must be provided in 2 sets ; one original and one copy

1. Passport and Two sets of copies of passport photo page
● Passport with validity not less than 6 months
● At least 2 blank pages left

2. Two sets of 2. Visa Application Form and Colour Photograph (Size 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm which taken within the last 3 months)
● Completely filled out and signed as the same as the applicant's passport signature
● The number of required documents is depending on the applicant's nationality. Please check the additional required documents for Non-Japanese applicants

3. Two Sets of Personal History 
● Completely filled out and signed as the same as the applicant's passport signature

4. Two copies of confirmed airline ticket paid in full or ticket reservation confirmation
● Must be issued by airline or travel company and must contain the applicant's name, flight number and date arrival

5. One original and one copy of financial statement
Please choose one of the following documents from A.-B.

A. Original bank statement showing money deposited in Thai bank located in Thailand with the amount of not less than 3,000,000 Baht; or

B. Original bank statement showing money deposited in Thai bank located in Thailand with the amount of not less than 1,800,000 Baht and have income with the amount of not less than 1,200,000 Baht per year. (The proof of income issued in Japan or foreign countries must be certified (legalized) by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and Notary Public or Competent Ministry of the applicant’s native country) Once the applicant enters Thailand, the accumulated money deposited in Thai bank located in Thailand must not be less than 3,000,000 Baht within 1 year

● Must be issued within 3 months

6. One original Certificate of Criminal Record in English language
● Must be issued by the competent authority of Japan or country of the applicant’s nationality
● Must present to the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo in a sealed envelope (Do not open it)
● Must be issued within 3 months
● Original Certificate of Criminal Record issued by the competent authority of Japan, must be certified (legalized) by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and Notary public or Competent Ministry of the applicant’s native country
● In case of the applicant is a foreigner who has permanent residence in Japan, must have one original Certificate of Criminal Record issued by the competent authority of Japan and one original Certificate of Criminal Record issued by the competent authority of the applicant’s country of origin
● Original Certificate of Criminal Record issued by the competent authority of the applicant’s country of origin, must be certified (legalized) by the resp

7. One original and one copy of Medical Certificate in English language issued by National Hospital
● Must be original Medical Certificate written in English language confirming that the applicant is in good health and does not have any serious illness
● Must not have prohibitive diseases as indicated in the Ministerial Regulation No. 14 B.E. 2535, namely, Leprosy, Tuberculosis, Elephantiasis, third phase of Syphilis and Drug Addiction
● Must be issued within 3 months
● Must be certified (legalized) by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan


8. One original and two copies of Health Insurance Certificate in English language
● Must issue by insurance company in Thailand (For more information on Thai insurance companies, please visit https://longstay.tgia.org/)
● Must have a coverage of 1 year and the start date should be the date of entry. Please note that in case of staying in Thailand for more than 1 year, the insurance certificate should cover all the period of stay in Thailand
● Must cover the medical treatment cost of 40,000 Baht or more for out-patients and the medical treatment cost of 400,000 Baht or more for in-house patients
● Must cover with a minimum coverage of 100,000 USD accounting for 3,000,000 Baht and must cover the medical treatment (both in-house patient and out-patient) including the treatment of COVID-19 in Thailand

 

Required Documents in applying for Non-Immigrant O-X Visa for Spouse and Children

For Spouse (No age restriction and available only for nationalities listed above in the Qualification)
(1) Documents No. 1-8 as the same as the applicant of Non-Immigrant O-X Visa

(2) Official documents proving family relationship with the applicant
(2.1) For Japanese nationality, please submit original family registration (KOSEKITOHON) issued within 3 months
(2.2) For foreigners, please submit a copy of marriage certificate of respective country with English translation

For Children (No restriction on nationality, but available for only the age under 20 years old)
(1) Documents No. 1-9 as the same as the applicant of Non-Immigrant O-X Visa

(2) Official documents proving family relationship with the applicant
(2.1) For Japanese nationality, please submit original family registration (KOSEKITOHON) issued within 3 months
(2.2) For foreigners, please submit a copy of birth certificate of respective country with English translation

9. One copy of residence card (Please present the original document of identification on application date)
● Valid for at least 3 months
● For those who are currently applying for renewal of residence card, please submit a copy of acceptance of renewal issued by the Immigration Bureau of Japan

 

<Other Useful Information for Non-Immigrant O-X Visa>


※ For the applicant or spouse who have deposited 3,000,000 Baht in the Thai bank account, they cannot withdraw money from this deposit within 1 year after entering Thailand. The withdrawal can only be processed after staying in Thailand for 1 year. The withdrawal can be paid for medical expenses, purchase of condominiums, purchase of airline tickets, payment of school fees for children, among other expenses, and the withdrawal can only occur within Thailand. The balance of the deposit after withdrawal is limited to 1,500,000 Baht or more.

※ For the applicant or spouse and children who have deposited 1,800,000 Baht with annual income or pension in total of not less than 1,200,00 Baht, after entering Thailand for 1 year, they should have deposit more than 3,000,000 Baht to the deposit account in Thailand and they cannot withdraw money from this deposit within 1 year. The withdrawal can only be processed after staying in Thailand for 1 year. The withdrawal can be paid for medical expenses, purchase of condominiums, purchase of airline tickets, payment of school fees for children, among other expenses, and the withdrawal can only occur within Thailand. The balance of the deposit after withdrawal is limited to 1,500,000 Baht or more.

※ Health Insurance Policy in Thailand should be renewed every year.

※ After the applicant obtains the Non-Immigration O-X Visa, the applicant can stay in Thailand for 5 years after entering Thailand. To extend the stay for another 5 years, the applicant must contact the offices of the Immigration Bureau of Thailand directly
