Qualification • Must be 50 years of age or over on the date of applying visa
• Must not be prohibited from entering Thailand
• Must have no criminal record in Thailand, Japan and the applicant’s country of nationality
• Must be Japanese or must have permanent residence in Japan
• Must not have prohibitive diseases as indicated in the Ministerial Regulation No. 14 B.E. 2535, namely, Leprosy, Tuberculosis, Elephantiasis, third phase of Syphilis and Drug Addiction
Employment in Thailand is strictly prohibited
• Applicants who wish to extend their stay can contact the offices of the Immigration Bureau of Thailand directly to request for 1 year extension of stay for only one time for the total stay of 2 years
Notice • Applicant must enter Thailand on the date specified in the airline ticket or ticket reservation confirmation
• Upon arrival to Thailand, the period of stay is granted by an immigration officer in accordance with the type of visa and travelers who wish to stay longer than the granted period must file an application for permission of extension of stay at offices of the Immigration Bureau of Thailand
• In case that visa application is rejected, the visa fee will not be refunded and submitted documents will not be returned to applicant
• The following required documents are subject to change without prior notice
• Royal Thai Consulate-Genernal, Fukuoka reserves the right to request additional documents as deemed necessary and reserves the right to reject an application without providing any reasons
• Fraud or misrepresentation can result in permanent visa ineligibility

1. Passport and Two sets of copies of passport photo page
● Passport with validity not less than 18 months
● At least 2 blank pages left

2. Two sets of Visa Application Form and Colour Photograph (Size 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm which taken within the last 3 months)
• Completely filled out and signed as the same as the applicant's passport signature

• The number of required documents is depending on the applicant's nationality. Please check the additional required documents for Non-Japanese applicants

3. Two Sets of Personal History 
• Completely filled out and signed as the same as the applicant’s passport signatur

4. Two copies of confirmed airline ticket paid in full or ticket reservation confirmation
● Must be issued by airline or travel company and must contain the applicant's name, flight number and date arrival

5. Financial statement
Please choose one of the following documents from A.-C.

A. Two copies of income or pension certificate with the latest update on transfer notice of income/pension in total of not less than the equivalent of 65,000 Baht per month (On the applying date, please present the original document); or

B. One original and one copy of bank statement showing a deposit of the amount equal to and not less than the equivalent of 800,000 Baht per month (Being able to confirm for the past 3 months including the month of submitting visa application); or

C. One original and one copy of bank statement written in English language with an annual income or pension in total of not less than the equivalent of 800,000 Baht

● Must be issued within 3 months
● Must be certified (legalized) by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and Notary Public

6. One original certificate of criminal record in English language
• Must be issued by the competent authority of Japan or country of the applicant’s nationality
• Must present to Royal Thai Consulate-General in Fukuoka in a sealed envelope
• Must be issued within 3 months
• Must be certified (legalized) by notary public and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan or Competent Ministry of the applicant’s native country

7. One original and one copy of Medical Certificate in English language issued by National Hospital
• Must be original Medical Certificate written in English language confirming that the applicant is in good health and does not have any serious illness
• Must not have prohibitive diseases as indicated in the Ministerial Regulation No. 14 B.E. 2535, namely, Leprosy, Tuberculosis, Elephantiasis, third phase of Syphilis and Drug Addiction
• Must be issued within 3 months
• Must be certified (legalized) by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan

8. One original and two copies of Health Insurance Certificate in English language
• Must issue by insurance company in Thailand, Japan or other country

• Must have a coverage of 1 year and the start date should be the date of entry. Please note that in case of staying in Thailand for more than 1 year, the insurance certificate should cover all the period of stay in Thailand
• Must cover with a minimum coverage of 100,000 USD or 3,000,000 Baht, and must cover the medical treatment (both in-house patient and out-patient) including the treatment of COVID-19 in Thailand

9. One original and one copy of Mandatory Health Insurance (foreign insurance certificate)
• Standard format of the Mandatory Health Insurance (Here)
• Must sign by three authorized person(s) and fill the information by the insurance company
• Must have the insurance company’s seal
• In case of foreign insurance company, please certified (legalized) by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and Notary public

 

※In the case where the accompanying spouse is not eligible to apply for Non-Immigrant O-A, please submit the following documents for applying Non-Immigrant O:

A) Documents No. 1-4 as the same as the Non-Immigrant O-A applicant

B) Official documents proving family relationship
• For Japanese nationality, please submit original family registration (KOSEKITOHON) issued within 3 months
• For foreigner, please submit a copy of marriage certificate with English translation
• Please note that the Non-Immigrant O visa will allow the accompanying spouse to enter Thailand for the period of stay only 90 days

10. One copy of residence card (Please present the original document of identification on application date)
● Valid for at least 3 months
● For those who are currently applying for renewal of residence card, please submit a copy of acceptance of renewal issued by the Immigration Bureau of Japan

*Visa processing time for the listed countries on table 1 above is approximately 3-60 days
*For Nigeria nationals, please submit all required documents, including a Certificate of Clearance, with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). In addition, this Certificate should be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and then by the Royal Thai Embassy in Abuja
