New Entry Measures to Thailand from 1 July 2022 onwards

Important Notice

● From 1 July 2022 onwards, Thai and foreign travelers will no longer be required to register in the Thailand Pass system to enter Thailand nor a quarantine upon arrival. This applies both to those who have been fully vaccinated and not fully vaccinated. Nonetheless, Thai health quarantine officers may perform a random check upon arrival in case traveler's documents are incomplete or inaccurate. Also, travelers with a high temperature or COVID-19 symptom may be requested to take a COVID-19 test at the airport at own expenses. Please strictly follow the instructions provided by the officer.

● From 1 July 2022 onwards, the proof of medical insurance will be no longer required to enter Thailand.

Required documents for boarding procedure
(1) Passport
(2) Vaccination Certificate of COVID-19* (if vaccinated with at least 2 doses more than 14 days before departure); OR a negative RT-PCR or professional ATK (conducted by medical doctor and not self-test) test result for COVID-19 issued within 72 hours before departure (if unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated).

*The test result must be written in English with a doctor's signature OR stamp/authorized seal of medical clinic/hospital. Please note that the doctor's signature can be original or electronic version.*
*As for the 1st and 2nd dose of Vaccination Certificate of COVID-19 (or 1st dose of Johnson & Johnson) should contain the travelers’ personal information (full name, date of birth, nationality, passport number and details of each vaccination). For those who have received such vaccines in Japan, please acquire the Vaccination Certificate of COVID-19 in hard copy from the ward office in your area of residence. The detailed information regarding the Vaccination Certificate of COVID-19 in Japan is available on the website of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan at https://www.mhlw.go.jp/stf/covid-19/certificate.html.
*In case of urgent need to travel to Thailand, Japanese and non-Japanese travelers with residency in Japan are able to use the Vaccination Certificate of COVID-19 in electronic version from the application 新型コロナワクチン接種証明書アプリ. The travelers are requested to take a screenshot of the e-Vaccination Certificate on the mobile phone, which has to cover all details of the person’s full name, date of birth, nationality, passport number and details of vaccinations (all in one page). The QR Code can be downloaded from the application. Please save the screenshot and the QR Code in the mobile phone or print them out.
*Please note that some airlines may request a negative PCR test result before boarding.

Regulations for travelers under the age of 18 who would like to enter Thailand

· Children under the age of 18 are not required to receive COVID-19 vaccination if travelling with a parent/legal guardian who is fully vaccinated.
· Children under the age of 18 who received at least 1 dose of COVID-19 vaccination more than 14 days before departure are considered fully vaccinated.

Travelling with a Thai parent/legal guardian
· If the parent/legal guardian is fully vaccinated, the children can enter without vaccination.
· If both parent/legal guardian and children are not fully vaccinated, both parent/legal guardian and children must have a negative RT-PCR or professional ATK test result for COVID-19 issued within 72 hours before departure. (Children under 6 years old are not required.)
· If only the children are fully vaccinated, the parent/legal guardian must have a negative RT-PCR or professional ATK test result for COVID-19 issued within 72 hours before departure.

Travelling alone (5-17 years old)
· Children aged between 5-17 years old who received at least 1 dose of COVID-19 vaccination more than 14 days before departure can enter Thailand alone by presenting the vaccination Certificate of COVID-19.
· Children aged between 5-17 years old, without vaccination, can enter Thailand alone with a RT-PCR or professional ATK test result for COVID-19 issued within 72 hours before departure.

Regulations for travelers who have previously been infected with Covid-19 and would like to enter Thailand

· Travelers who had been infected with COVID-19 at least 14 days before the date of travelling, and fully recovered, will be able to travel to Thailand.
· Travelers, who had been infected with COVID-19 within 3 months before traveling, should prepare a COVID-19 recovery form certifying of the full recovery from COVID-19, to show to the Thai health quarantine officer, in case their result of a random check RT-PCR test upon arrival is positive. Please note that the recovery form can be original or electronic version.
· Travelers who had been infected with COVID-19 for more than 3 months before entering Thailand and received at least one dose of vaccination at any time after being infected with COVID-19 are considered fully vaccinated.
· Travelers who were fully vaccinated prior to COVID-19 infection are considered as fully vaccinated.

Regulations for international transit/transfer passengers

· From 1 July 2022, international passengers who will not pass through the immigration procedure to enter Thailand and transfer directly to a third country by transit, are NOT required to register for Thailand Pass, NOT have to present Certificate of COVID-19 Vaccination or a negative RT-PCR test result; and NOT required to present a health insurance (no requirement to show a health certificate with minimum coverage of 10,000 USD).
