The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Fukuoka in collaboration with Tourism Authority of Thailand in Fukuoka (TAT) and Office of Thai Trade Representative in Hiroshima, organized Thai Food Festival in Fukuoka during 10 – 11 July 2021 at Shokubunka Studio, Fukuoka. In the New Normal era, the event was held in a hybrid style which comprised of both offline and online cooking sessions.
The Grand Opening on 10 July 2021 was attended by invited guests, members of the Japan – Thailand Friendship Association of Fukuoka Prefectural Assembly, local media and Key Opinion Leaders from social media networks.
At the opening ceremony, H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, delivered welcoming remarks via VDO clip, followed by a short presentation on Thailand tourism by representative of TAT. Highlight of the Day 1 event was the cooking demonstration by Chef Kihara Kazuyoshi to present how-to cook “Tom Yum Kung”, famous Thai soup and “Chor Muang, a traditional Thai savory snack. Participants also enjoyed cooking the Thai cuisines as well as learning tips and special secrets of the Thai recipe.
The cooking demonstration continued in Day 2 on 11 July 2021, which open for the general public to learn how to cook “Pad Thai”, famous Thai street food and “Saa Ku Sai Moo aka Tapioca Ball with Pork Filing.
In addition, the Royal Thai Consulate-General has also released series of Thai Food Cooking Demonstration via YouTube Channel:www.youtube.com/c/ThailandInFukuoka starting from 10 July 2021 onward. Different themes of Thai cuisine are selected to be in the YouTube playlist such as healthy Thai food, Thai food for Bento, Thai comfort food, special recipe from famous Thai drama, etc. The recipes have been adapted for beginners and contemporary cooks for everyone to enjoy cooking at home.
